WAX MELT SAFETY

Jacs Melts wants to put your safety first so we like to give you some guidelines on how to burn our wax melts safely.

Wax melts are fragranced wax that do not have a wick like traditional candles. They are designed to be used in appropriate wax burners/melters.

TO USE

Simply remove your wax melt from the packaging or container, break off your desired amount of wax and place in the top of your burner, light your tea light candle we recommend that you use a 4 hour un-scented tealight candle not an 8 hour. The wax will melt slowly as it heats up and releases the fragrance. When the tea light has been extinguished the wax will harden ready to use again the next time, unlike candles the wax in melts will not evaporate.

You can re-use the wax until the fragrance has completely dispersed.

HANDY TIPS

  • To remove your wax once the fragrance has gone wait for the tealight to extinguish, and the wax to cool but not harden, simply pop a cotton wool ball or pad onto your burner/melter and this will soak up your wax.
  • Dispose of your wax carefully. DO NOT POUR DOWN THE PLUGHOLE. The wax will harden and over time may cause a blockage.
  • Wipe your burner with a clean piece of kitchen towel to remove any left over wax and your ready to use again.
  • We recommend that you do not place your burner/melter into the freezer to remove wax, this can cause it to fracture and become unsafe.

IMPORTANT

  • Keep melted was away from children and pets.
  • Always use within sight, never leave unattended.
  • Always ensure that you do not overfill your burner/melter.
  • Wax will remain hot after your tea light has been extinguished until it hardens.
  • Do not try to move your wax burner/melter until it has cooled completely and the wax has also cooled and hardened.
  • Never add water or fragrance oils to your burner/melter.
  • Do not use scented tea light candles
  • Only use a standard 4 hour tea light not an 8 hour tea light candle. Only one tea light at a time.
  • Ensure the surface you put your burner/melter on to burn your melts is heatproof.
  • Do not eat your wax melts.
